Hi,
I'm new to the web site & to Bonsai.I have a lot of questions, but here is the one I'm working on at the moment. I received 4 Japanese Larch In the mail. They are approximately 36" tall, I've replanted them large pots to let them grow. Now, My question. The trees only have needles at the top few branches 1" or 2" down. Everything else is bare. What is the best solution for filling out the lower part of the trees with branches.
Thanks.
Mike

This sort of thing is common with trees in the wild, as you know, trees sometimes only have it on the top when fighting for light. Try giving it some more light on the bottom of the plant. Also, try cutting a couple pieces of the brown part.
