We received a ficus bonsai a few months ago and were excited to learn how to maintain the tree, however life got busy and we neglected it. We have now decided to get going with maintaining the tree and would like to start some others as well. There were a few lower branches that the leaves fell off of and have not come back (maybe dead), but the top part is starting to grow nicely and seems healthy. My question is what should we do with this tree next? Because we have not maintained the tree it has started its upward path and we are wanting to direct it out a bit. I am attaching a picture and would love some input as to how we can save this tree.
